I'm currently a college junior majoring in journalism and minoring in business in New York City! I'm a fashionista, eyeshadow enthusiast, and a foodie who loves Jesus and all things aesthetically pleasing.
HOW IT GOT STARTED

Society truly tries to force us into boxes. We are told to only pick one job, stick to it for a good while, and retire at 65. That type of lifestyle truly terrifies me. I want to travel the globe, not be confined to a cubicle.
Another way society tries to control us is through aesthetics. Some may feel like they can only dress in one style or must conform to one aesthetic. I haven't really seen anything where my style has been represented in it's truest form through multiple aesthetics. That's why Renaissance Woman was born.

This blog showcases women who look like me, black women who are elegant and classy but can also switch it up with some dope streetwear.

I hope that Renaissance Woman is able to show young black women that not only is it okay to take control of your life and choose to go against society's wave when it comes to not only their career life, but when it comes to the way they look at fashion as well.
